Inspired Life

Dated: 27th March 2021

One of the most inspiring moments occurred to me during a visit to Kapils Salon, Goregaon (W).

The therapist (Jay) asked me to sit comfortably and inquired whether I  required  water/ tea/coffee. I asked for a bottle of water and asked him where to keep the bottle and glasses that I had worn.

His answer surprised me! – He said that he was partially blind and could only see from one eye.

I suddenly felt a wave of heaviness and sympathy and said sorry to him.

Jay became partially blind when he was in his 10th Standard and studied at the Victoria memorial school for the blind. He was in praise of the school and how it takes care of its students and the facilities given to its students.

He cleared the board exams through the use of a writer. As per rules, the writer has to be a grade lower than the one you are appearing in the exams for. He highlighted the difficulties in searching for a writer and learning Braille language.

Jay narrated his stories and how they would plan vacations and the fun they had with all the visually impaired fellow students.

It is heartwarming for us who take what we have for granted when there are people who dream of a normal and healthy life like us.

·         Guys, for those who want to make a difference towards the schooling of such students, we can contribute in many ways:

One of the many ways we can contribute is by utilizing their conference facilities for work purposes. The money raised goes towards welfare and support of these kids’ facilities.

All the donations are also exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

The school offers free education up to class 8th and various programs through which students can take care of their own selves and their dependants.

Kindly check their website for further details:

Jay currently works at Kapils Salon, Goregaon and I feel proud that he takes care of himself and his family by working as full time massage therapist.

A big thanks to the Salon and their management team for providing livelihood to visually impaired People and enabling them to live their life proudly and with dignity.
