Japalouppe !

Image
What an amazing feeling it is to be among-st animals and spending a day feeding them and petting them! Japalouppe is conveniently located at a three hour drive from Mumbai and attracts animal enthusiast from across the country. Predominantly, it is an equestrian center, i.e. it provides end to end horse riding and breeding facility.     However, it has a vast array of other animals such as Rabbits, Geese, Turkeys, Goats, and Emus etc The thing which is very good is that the entire experience of petting tour is one where you get a sense of happiness and joy when feeding animals with your own hands. It’s a scene straight out of a movie where rabbits come and sit on your lap, shoulders and eat peacefully.                                                You have to experience this to feel connected with all the animals and your own self. They have Picnic Packages at different slots of the day and it is usually for 2.

Inspired Life

Dated: 27 th March 2021 One of the most inspiring moments occurred to me during a visit to Kapils Salon, Goregaon (W). The therapist (Jay) asked me to sit comfortably and inquired whether I   required   water/ tea/coffee. I asked for a bottle of water and asked him where to keep the bottle and glasses that I had worn. His answer surprised me! – He said that he was partially blind and could only see from one eye. I suddenly felt a wave of heaviness and sympathy and said sorry to him. Jay became partially blind when he was in his 10th Standard and studied at the Victoria memorial school for the blind. He was in praise of the school and how it takes care of its students and the facilities given to its students.              He cleared the board exams through the use of a writer. As per rules, the writer has to be a grade lower than the one you are appearing in the exams for. He highlighted the difficulties in searching for a writer and learning Braille language.                Ja

Yogi Paramahansa !

Image
Dated: 16th Jan 2021 A friend of mine recommended the Book-“Autobiography of a Yogi” by Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. There are seldom such profound books on self realization and the power a human being is capable of. As the name suggests, this book is the narration of the life journey of its Author- “Paramahansa Yogananda”. The first thing I noticed is the picture of its author on the cover page. There is something really divine and grace in his eyes, as if that he is from another dimension altogether and has been brought to our human world to serve a definite purpose. From being ridiculed by his family members and society, this book wonderfully takes us down to his journey of self realization and the message he delivered to our human race. The sages, the People he met during his life, the ashrams he went to and the complete faith in the divine god within himself he had, this book is an eye opener on the mystical way our human mind works and its capabilities. We all are essen

Dated :  4 th January 2021. We all are busy in our day to day routine especially in metro cities where the pace of life is such that we hardly stop and observe our environment. A similar incident happened to me a couple of days back. I usually take a stroll post lunch and on one such walks, I keenly observed the Banyan Tree near my office compound. Now, I have seen the tree almost every day but hardly stopped and appreciated it. It’s a wonder!                 I asked our security about the tree and was surprised to know that it is atleast 50+ years (The tree was present before his supervisors too). Imagine the memories the tree might have! It felt so relaxing to just gaze at the tree and all its twigs, fruits, squirrels and all the habitats supported by the tree. The swing, which is typical of a banyan tree, was a pleasure to watch. So many people might have enjoyed the swing J The distinctive part of a Banyan tree is the roots which stem from the branch on a down

Dated: 28/09/2020 This happened a week back.  I was downstairs in my building talking to a friend, when i noticed a burning sensation in my feet. There were huge fire ants on my feet and it felt like my leg was on fire. My friend rushed to the security guard and asked him to pour water on both my legs. Although it momentarily felt good, but the pain was very much present and it kept on stinging. When i came upstairs to my home, and showed my feet to my parents, they were shocked and wondered how did i get so many insect bites!  The first thing i did was opened my book on Ayurvedic home remedies by Dr Vasant Lad and frantically searched for insect bites section. My mom kept on pouring cold water on my feet and pressed ice on it. I found that , the best thing to do when we face any insect bites was to apply neem paste on the stings. Fortunately , we had neem leaves handy. We prepared a paste and applied it all over. It really felt good afterwards. I just researched more about Neem leave
